Some people are just addicted to Magic Online m11 drafts, and Marlon Egolf (merl2pearl) is no exception. Check out the draft as he rumbles his way through another 8-4
Magic 2011 (M11) Draft Video #15

ive never heard someone say they like sleep more in a control deck. Interesting. And I’ve never seen someone take a blue common creature over it either. Also interesting.
LOL I have a cameo in your video marlon at 0:50
broham, you need to remember to play those lands on turn4…
What exactly dose split mean?
Also, is there a way to tell who your next opponent is going to be? Or do you just try and look at all the other games if you have time?
Splitting an 8-4 means that one of the players concedes, and then that “winner” of the draft gives the losing player 2 packs, so each player gets 6 packs.
the only way to know who youre playing round 2 (as far as I’m aware of) is to wait until the game starts. After you find out your opponent you can go back and watch their round 1 replay. If you notice, my round 2 game 1 videos always start with around 27-28 minutes on the clock, since I spend the first couple minutes watching a game from my opponents round 1 match.
A good rule of thumb is to make sure to watch a replay game that your opponent won. If he swept round 1, you can watch any game, but if it went to 3 games you should watch game 3. You dont want to end up watching a game that your opponent loses, because you might not see his win condition.
Round 3 you know who your opponent will be, so you can watch the replay before your finals match starts
that is a really good idea I nvr thought of that.. check the game AFTER the game starts…. then fast forward to end and look in graveyard I guess?
Awesome tip.
If you fast forward to the end when when replaying games, the client will often get many errors, and you may end up having to close and restart.
Its safer to just hit the play button and let it take the 2-3 minutes to roll through the plays that way.
While clearly you know what you are doing, sometimes your explanations of what you are doing makes me questions it. For instance, red is not “gay” aside from the obvious misuse of the word, red is just weak. A lightning bolt is nothing to shake a stick at. Also, sleep is really good in an aggro deck even if you are running evasion creatures. Your attitude often makes me want to root against you. I have learned to just mute the sound and watch. Keep drafting though, because there are subtle things I do pick up even if I mute it.
I, on the other hand, like your style Marlon. Your drafts are very entertaining to watch, keep it up!
Can you please start posting your Drafts on RAREDRAFTS.com. If you do not know the site it is like a cool flash thing were you upload the draft.txt file MTGO makes, then anyone can go to the link to your draft and play the draft themselves. Also, after you make your deck you save it out as a deck.txt file and upload that as well, and then we can see your deck on raredraft.com.
Why do this? Well it is just cool. You could put the link to the draft in your videos, and we could play the draft ourselves b4 watching you… then once we did our draft, see how yours is different, and in turn get your chat to know why.. be cool for learning.
Please consider.
