Magic the Gathering Online has announced the 2011 Community Cup event, where players can nominate their favorite MTGO players to represent the community at Wizards headquarters. If the representatives win, cool prizes are handed out to all MTGO members who helped get them there (First year it was Momir Vig avatars, second year it was a Mirrodin draft set). The important theme here is community, so the likely representatives would have to be people who have helped to spotlight what a great product MTGO really is. Perhaps they utilized an entire website to spotlight the product, encouraging new players with their wacky exploits? Maybe they set up forums and engaged fans in article comments to help keep this game alive? Wish I knew some people like that I could nominate.

So uh… you can learn more about nominations on Wizards’ official site (http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/other/04262011c). God, I really wish I could think of someone…
