Hey team, Vito Gesualdi here. As I said, I’m still helping to run things behind the scenes, and I’ve gotta say DraftMagic is doing great, and our community keeps growing (hoping to see more of you in the forums!) So here’s what’s up., We’ve just about hit one of our content goals, which is having a new video a day. We’re excited about this, but we also know that we have a serious shortage of written content, and it is breaking my balls. I need writers damnit!
Here’s the specifics:
Looking for writers interested in covering a variety of Magic: the Gathering topics. Examples:
- Guides on how to draft popular archetypes (Example: “How to draft RB Aggro in Magic 2012″)
- General card spotlights (Example: “The top ten creatures in Innistrad limited”)
- Speculation on upcoming sets and spoiled cards (Example: “Innistrad Mythics to watch”)
Basically, I’m looking for writers who can put out fun and interesting content. I’m not interested in tournament reports, or very niche columns about things like pauper. I need one or two solid guys who can give me articles that I want to read!
What you get:
- An awesome boost to your writing portfolio (trust me all you college English majors, you want this)
- An audience of thousands of Magic fans (also trolls)
- Fourteen American dollars for every two articles you write (go infinite!)
- A free DraftMagic t-shirt once I get around to printing up more
- Any writers with demonstrated professional Magic experience will be eligible for additional compensation
What you need:
- Ability to write and edit, and post your own articles
- Access to photo-editing software for creating article banners
- Experience with HTML and WordPress highly desired.
If interested, fire off an email to vitogesualdi[NOSP@M]@gmail.com. Writers will be expected to provide one sample article for the site.

Do people still read? Videos man we want videos. Like marlons last article.. how much better would that have been as a pod cast reading what he is talking about then discussing it with other DM contributes…
reading.. pfft.. come and join us in teh future Vito
I for one do hope that you keep publishing articles. Videos can be spontaneous and fun, but written articles are the best medium for truly deep magical learning. The “Chosen Five” articles by Marlon are some of my favorite Magic articles out there. As an added bonus, articles use up a lot less battery on the old talky stick. Thanks for all the greatness despite the busy schedule. It would also be cool if you had a drafter who concentrates on re-experiencing old school sets through nixtix/pax events.
If only I was a more experienced player, I would total be jumping at the chance for this. Sounds like it would be fun to write for this site.
fu, where are the egolf drafts.
/rage
@Rolf
Innistrad doesn’t come out online until 10/17, so we’re about a month away from another egolf draft
I would absolutely love to apply for this, but I’m a Magic amateur and probably wouldn’t have enough interesting things to say. Ah, to be more experienced!
How do we go about this? Write an article and send it in?
Hi, I was wondering if you got my application.
I am not 100% sure if you got my email, so if you did, feel free to acknowledge that. Thanks bud.

Hi,
I was wondering if we had to include the sample article in our email, or if we should just send an email to show we’re interested and wait to hear back from you first.
Thanks!
Luca
This would be a sweet job. I would love to go infinite!
Hi again,
I’m very interested in the writing position, and I sent you an email. Hotmail didn’t recognize “vitogesualdi[NOSP@M]@gmail.com,” so I used “vitogesualdi@gmail.com” instead. Hopefully the email made it to you. If it’s convenient, a confirmation as to whether or not you got it would be great!
Thanks,
Luca Wistendahl
